Social Rights and Civil Rights

Social rights can be termed as the rights prepared by a group of people to uphold social order within a society. Civil rights are the rights held by an individual to obtain equal treatment in various settings including employment, education etc and based on certain lawfully protected characteristics. Civil rights are a set of rights and freedoms that defend individuals from unjustifiable action by government or any individuals or private organization.

Civil rights ensure ones honor and safety. It is the right of the people to be treated equally regardless of their religion, race, creed and gender. Many nations including US, regards civil rights as a law. The protection of Civil and Social rights is essential in order to uphold human dignity and secure human rights. The achievement of human rights has the potential to foster the development of the world.

Until the core of the 20th century, civil rights included the rights to make and implement contracts, right to own property and right to receive due process of law.
