
The right to equality concerns with the equality of persons on the principles of non-discrimination and equality before the law.
It is one of the central standards of fundamental rights. According to it, law is the same for everyone; it should be applied in the same way to all. Each and every individual is born free and equal in pride and rights. All human beings are endowed with conscience and reason and should operate towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.
According to article 1 and 7 of UDHR (Universal Declaration of Human Rights) :
- Each and every one is considered equal before the law and is unrestricted without any discrimination to equal protection of the law and have equal protection against any discrimination in infringement of this Declaration and against any encouragement to such inequity.
- All are equal in self-respect and rights.
