Asian Centre for Human Rights

Asian Centre for Human Rights is dedicated for the protection and promotion of human rights in the Asian region. The main aim of this Centre is to secure and maintain fundamental freedoms. The prime duty of Asian Centre for Human Rights is to research or investigate the individual cases or country situation in order to achieve human rights and protest against the violation of human rights. It also inculcates useful training on the use of international and national human rights processes. This Centre strives to secure social, economic and cultural rights of an individual in order to achieve development of a country.

Asian Centre for Human Rights had conducted campaigning to protect the fundamental human rights in the Asian region. It is working to obtain compensation for human rights violations and also to secure justice. This Centre has protested against the Maoists who have planted bombs that blasted on the Gyaneshwari Express train in West Bengal, India. This incident was an act of war crimes and terrorism.

Asian Centre for Human Rights had performed many campaigning to protect the rights of refugees as well as to end torture. Campaign for a national anti- torture law was conducted to prevent torture and gradually abolish torture as it violates the basic human rights which are essential to uphold human dignity. This Centre had also conducted campaigning to secure Child Rights. Securing child rights was necessary to protect the rights of children as well as from unfair discrimination.

Asian Centre for Human Rights had successfully conducted a campaign to protect the rights of refugees especially the Burmese refugees against an evil act of torture. This campaign helped in securing the right to freedom of assembly and association to the Burmese refugees. By campaigning, Asian Centre for Human Rights has bestowed justice to many victims of torture and cruel treatment.
