Demand Dignity campaign of Amnesty International will primarily concentrate on a few important areas of human rights abuse which depicts sharply the interaction of deprivation, exclusion, insecurity and voices overlooked. The ultimate goal is to end the human rights abuse that keeps people poor. People all over the world surviving in poverty are demanding dignity. They want to end the injustice that makes them feel inferior and want their voices to be heard.
They desire to have a total control over the decisions that concern their lives. They also want their rights to be respected by everyone. Another campaign by Amnesty International is Abolish Death Penalty. Death Penalty is regarded as an ultimate contradiction of human rights. It violates the right to life mentioned in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Abolish Death Penalty campaign strives for eliminating death penalty. Stop Violence against Women is a campaign that aims to curb violence against women at the hands of their family, community etc. It also safeguards women from unfair discrimination. The campaign also demands new laws supporting the protection of human rights of women and empowerment of women. Terror attacks decline the power of securing human rights. Counter terror with justice is a campaign dedicated to secure national security.
Every year more than thousands of people die due to armed violence. The unregulated universal arms trade imposes depression worldwide. To prevent very easy access to arms; there is a campaign termed Control Arms. Control Arms is a campaign reducing the right to use arms; thereby protecting the human rights and right to life. This campaign demands for a universal Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) which would establish stringent rules for the global transfer of arms and would take actions against arms supplier.
