Awareness Campaign for Women Rights

The Legal and Human Rights Centre (LHRC) entered on the knowledge campaign that target to provide women awareness on their human rights.
The centre launched a book that is a version of the Maputo Protocol that ensures complete rights to female, together with the right to play a part in the political process.

The protocol also provides social political and social parity with man, to handle their reproductive physical condition and stop to Female Genital Mutilation.
Ms Imelda Urrio, Acting Executive Director, LHRC said that it would issue the books to libraries in schools universities and to other NGO in the nation.

The version of the book is intended to allow people, particularly women, to identify their rights in order that they can fight for them.
Women's rights are ignored due to lack of knowledge, and the Government required enacting laws that will assure them their rights.
Learning about the code of behavior will be specified to citizens at many steps. More than 1,500 citizens from 7 regions got the learning on the protocol.
There is a must for the Government to go back the adult learning so that community can have moment to read diverse journals as well as know their rights.
She told, the Government has become successful to lay laws into several articles that are in the protocol like children marriages and the protocol was taken by the AU

Tanzania is amongst several African nations which ratified the protocol.
